How to Read Your DoorDash Payout Statement, Line by Line

Your DoorDash statement has four sections: Sales, Commission & Fees, Marketing Spend, and Amendments. Here's what each one means and why your deposit doesn't always match it.

Last updated July 23, 2026

A DoorDash payout statement breaks down into four sections: Sales, Commission & Fees, Marketing Spend, and Amendments. Everything under those four sections sums to your Net Total, and error charges specifically live in the Amendments section, the one worth scanning first if you're auditing for disputable charges. Where to find your statement

In the Merchant Portal, go to Financials. The tab has three sub-pages: Transactions gives you order counts and estimated payout for a period; Payouts gives you finalized payment data for scheduled payouts and the order-level detail included in each one; Statements covers monthly statements, tax invoices, and annual tax forms. The four sections, line by line

SectionDoorDash's definition
Sales"Total revenue from all DoorDash orders."
Commission and Fees"The total amount paid to DoorDash for commissions, fees, and related taxes."
Marketing Spend"The sum of all marketing-related costs and incentives, including discounts and credits."
Amendments"All error charges and other adjustments applied to your account."

If you're working from a raw CSV export instead of the portal UI, error charges and adjustments appear as separate per-transaction columns. In DoorDash's Reporting API schema they are named error_charges and adjustments; the Merchant Portal export likely uses human-readable labels for the same fields (DoorDash has not published the exact export headers, so check your own file). Marketing Spend is broken out by who funded each discount or credit, you, DoorDash, or a third party. Source: DoorDash Merchant Learning Center, "Payout and Monthly Statement"

The Net Total formula: DoorDash publishes two versions

This is worth flagging directly rather than picking one silently: DoorDash's own Monthly Statement FAQ page states Net Total = Sales − Commission & Fees + Amendments, a three-term formula that doesn't mention Marketing Spend at all. Source: DoorDash Merchant Help, "Mx Monthly Statement and FAQs" A separate DoorDash article, describing updates to Financial Reporting in the Merchant Portal, states Net Total = Sales − (Commission & Fees + Marketing Spend) + Amendments, a four-term formula that does subtract Marketing Spend. Source: DoorDash Merchant Help, "New Updates in Financial Reporting in the Merchant Portal"

These are mathematically different formulas, and DoorDash's own documentation disagrees with itself. This guide uses the newer four-term version, since it matches the current Report Builder's actual four CSV sections summing to Net Total, but if you're cross-checking DoorDash's own FAQ page and get a different total, this discrepancy on DoorDash's side is the likely reason, not an error in your math.

Hypothetical example, illustrating the four-term formula, not from an actual statement: Sales of $1,200.00, minus Commission & Fees of $360.00 and Marketing Spend of $45.00, plus Amendments of −$28.00 (a net error charge), comes to a Net Total of $767.00.

Why your deposit doesn't match your statement

The most common reason isn't a mistake, it's that payout dates and transaction dates aren't the same thing. "The monthly statement includes all transactions completed within the calendar month." A payout, by contrast, "includes transactions completed during the payout period, which may straddle two months." DoorDash states this explicitly: "The monthly statement is different from the sum of all payouts within a month since payout dates are not the same as transaction dates." If you're comparing one calendar month's statement total against one bank deposit, expect them not to line up before you even get to error charges. Source: DoorDash Merchant Help

Once the date-straddling explanation is ruled out, the next place to check is the Amendments section itself, since a new error charge or adjustment posted mid-period will also move a deposit away from what a prior estimate showed.

Monthly statement timing

Your monthly statement is available by the 5th day of every month, covering the previous calendar month's transactions. Access it at Merchant Portal → Financials → Statements, browsing by month. Source: DoorDash Merchant Help

FAQ

What are the four sections of a DoorDash payout statement?
Sales, Commission & Fees, Marketing Spend, and Amendments. Sales is total revenue from your DoorDash orders. Commission & Fees is the total paid to DoorDash for commissions, fees, and related taxes. Marketing Spend is all marketing-related costs and incentives, including discounts and credits. Amendments is all error charges and other adjustments applied to your account, the section to scan first when auditing for disputable charges.
What is the Net Total formula on a DoorDash statement?
DoorDash's more recently documented formula is Net Total = Sales - (Commission & Fees + Marketing Spend) + Amendments, matching the four sections in the current Report Builder. An older DoorDash FAQ page still publishes a different, three-term formula, Net Total = Sales - Commission & Fees + Amendments, that omits Marketing Spend as its own subtracted term; the two DoorDash pages disagree with each other, and we default to the newer four-term version since it matches the current Report Builder's actual four CSV sections.
What does 'Amendments' mean on my DoorDash statement?
DoorDash defines it directly: "All error charges and other adjustments applied to your account." This is the single section where error charges live on your statement, separate from commission, fees, and marketing costs.
Why doesn't my DoorDash deposit match my statement?
Because payout dates and transaction dates aren't the same thing. Your monthly statement includes all transactions completed within that calendar month, while a payout includes transactions completed during a payout period that can straddle two different months. Comparing one month's statement total to one deposit will often not match for this reason alone, before you even factor in error charges.
When is my DoorDash monthly statement available?
By the 5th day of every month, covering the previous calendar month, accessible in the Merchant Portal under Financials → Statements.
Does ErrorCharge read my DoorDash statement for me?
Yes, that's the core of the free scanner. ErrorCharge reads your DoorDash payout CSV in your browser, itemizes every Amendments-section charge by category, and drafts dispute text for the ones worth reviewing. Nothing is uploaded to a server, and we don't log into your Merchant Portal.
